There are a lot of Bullet Journal ideas out there. A LOT. And whether this is your first look into the world of Bullet Journals or you’ve been using them for years, you’re in the right place.
Bullet Journals (BuJo, for short) are a fantastic strategy that you can employ to stay better organized and focused within a chaotic world.
With that in mind, this post covers:
- What a Bullet Journal is
- Whether or not a BuJo is right for you
- Tools that you can use for your BuJo
- And, of course, countless Bullet Journal ideas
Let’s get started.
90+ Bullet Journal Ideas To Supercharge Your Productivity
You get 24 hours each day. Within that time you can do things to help you move closer to your dream life or not.
I prefer the former.
Now, you can do that through effective goal setting, or by better managing your time, or by building upon and increasing your productivity.
Either way, by better utilizing your time and by making sure your 24 hours are used properly, you can make real progress towards the ideal life that you seek.
Bullet Journaling is one way to do just that; it falls into that better productivity category and as you’ll soon find out, it’s easier to get started than even before.
What is a Bullet Journal?
I like to keep things simple. The simpler the system, the easier to implement, the better the results.
However, the idea of Bullet Journaling has become over-complicated with time. If you do a search for Bullet Journal you’ll likely come across nearly infinite designs, colorful spreads, and artistic masterpieces.
That’s not helpful though.
In actuality, the Bullet Journal is really a simple technique of using a notebook to keep track of your various notes, to-dos, and reminders.
That’s it.
For those artistically inclined, the sky’s the limit. But for most of us (myself included), Bullet Journaling is a straightforward way to keep notes, stay organized, and be more productive.
It is a system for logging the past, present, and future. It’s a method for chronicling your ideas and desires.
If you want to learn more about BuJo and how to set yours up, watch the following video:
Remember, as you go about creating your own Bullet Journal, keep it simple and straightforward so as to maximize the results.
After all, the best system is the one that allows you to make progress.
Do you need a Bullet Journal?
Now that you understand what a Bullet Journal is, it’s time to determine whether you actually need one for yourself.
The answer? You don’t, but it helps.
Personally, I’ve been using the Bullet Journal method for years and have found it incredibly helpful for staying organized, focused, and productive.
So I recommend giving it a try if you aren’t already using it.
Bonus: If you are looking for even more ways to take your time to the next level, I recommend you check out my goal success course.

What are the best Bullet Journal tools?
I know, I know. You’re probably thinking – Enough background! Just give me some Bullet Journal ideas already!
I get it. And we’re almost there (I promise!).
Before I get there though, there are a couple tools that you need before getting started. What are they?
- Your notebook
- And a reliable pen
These are really the 2 most important aspects when it comes to your own Bullet Journal. And because of that, I’ve spent a lot of time finding the tools that work best for me, and hopefully for you.
With that, here is my favorite notebook and pen to use when it comes to BuJo. *By the way, the links below are affiliate links. It doesn’t affect the pricing or product in any way though. Basically, it just means that if you click one of my links and make a purchase, I’ll receive a small commission that will allow me to keep this great site running strong.
Notebooks
As far as Bullet Journal notebooks go, I recommend Moleskine. They’re sleek, reliable, and well designed, especially with the square-grid setup. The grids provide structure while still providing room to be creative.
I’ve tried a lot of notebooks over the years and Moleskine is by far my favorite.
Pens
As far as pens go, my go-to is Zebra. These fine-point black-ink pens are the best. Why? Because they’re heavier than a normal pen and therefore feel more important.
Because of that, every time I add something to my journal using that pen it feels like I’m writing something of real value.
…
At the end of the day, use the tools that work best for you. These are the ones that work for me.
And now, without further ado, let’s jump into our list of Bullet Journal ideas.

Great article.
Thanks!
Journaling is my thing and I use two different journals. Do you use more than one journal?
Hey Katy – Great question! I recently transitioned out of journaling as much; opting to do more with Google Docs now. I can totally see how having more than one journal would be beneficial though.
Keep this going please, great job!
