When it comes to getting stuff done, we need to talk about the best productivity apps out there today.

Because sometimes the smartest way to get out of a productivity rut is to use technology to your advantage. Forget using your phone for leisure, instead see it for the productivity power house that it is.

You have a tremendous amount of technology at your finger tips. Use it!

Best productivity apps: here are 5 that you need to try

There are numerous free productivity apps available today that you can use to start getting more done.

But you may be asking yourself, why does productivity even matter?

Well if you stumbled upon this article then you probably already know, but if not let me break it down for you.

Productivity + Time Management = Creating Your Ideal Life

By getting the right stuff done efficiently (ie. productivity) and fully utilizing your time (ie. time management) you will be able to create an amazing life for yourself.

That’s huge!

Recognize that your time is valuable and that the only way for you to achieve your goals in life is to treat it responsibly.

We actually cover this in detail in our productivity and time management Super Course.

Here’s the thing – don’t see productivity apps as just another app on your phone. Instead, see them as tools that you can use to save time and get more done.

With that in mind, here are 5 of the best productivity apps available today. Check them out and start improving your life for the better!

Here are the 5 best productivity apps that you can use to get more done, be better organized, and boost your productivity.

1. Google Docs

What? Google Docs is one of the best productivity apps? Isn’t that just like a Word doc?

Yes and yes!

Google Docs is amazing because it is essentially a piece of paper that can take with you anywhere.

Whether you need to take notes, are planning out your schedule, or making lists, Google Docs is the best place to do it.

It’s a free service that you can use and access anywhere. You’ll need to sign up for a free gmail account first, but after that you’re free to use Google Docs as much as you’d like.

They also have a mobile app that you can download so that you can continue to use it wherever your phone is.

I spend most of my day using Google Docs and highly recommend it for anyone trying to get more done.

Seriously, this is one of the best apps for university students, busy parents, or those looking for a productivity boost.

2. Hootsuite

Hootsuite is a great website and one of the best productivity apps for iOS and Android. If your work involves around social media, then this is for you.

Why?

Because it allows you to schedule posts so that you can focus on creating content instead of sharing it.

Basically, you create your post, schedule it in Hootsuite, and walk away. They’ll take care of the rest.

They have a free website and app that you can use upon sign up.

Say goodbye to time consuming manual-sharing. Instead, use Hootsuite (free) and schedule our your posts ahead of time.

Now you can start using your time wisely!

3. Google Sheets

Another Google app? Seriously?

Of course!

Google is awesome and offers multiple free products that you can use when you sign up for their free gmail account.

And in this case, one of those awesome products is Google Sheets.

Google Sheets is very similar to Excel, but with an important caveat – just like Google Docs, you can use Sheets anywhere!

When you download the app (one of the best productivity apps for Android and iOS, I should point out), you can access your free Google Sheets whenever you want.

Use it to track expenses, your weight loss journey, or your project deadlines.

See it as a way to stay organized and on top of the task at hand.

You’re on the right path, but here’s the thing…

To create your ideal life you need to consistently get the right stuff done in the right order.

In other words, you need to have a proven strategy for productivity and time management.

That’s where we come in.

We’ve created a free, 6-day bootcamp that will give you the tools you need to kickstart your productivity, boost your time management, and change your life for the better!

4. Notes

Good news! If you have a smartphone you probably already have this on your home screen.

The Notes app on your phone is one of the best productivity apps available, but few people use it effectively.

It’s useful because of what you can do with it – take notes!

One thing that people don’t do enough is take notes. Note taking is extremely important because it:

  • Helps you stay organized
  • Keep track of your various interests, projects, and milestones
  • And it’s available whenever you need it – no pen and paper required

It’s similar to Google Docs because it’s essentially just a blank piece of paper that lives on your phone.

I use them differently though.

Notes I see as scratch paper. I write things down quickly as they arise.

Conversely, I treat Google Docs as something more official. If Notes is my scratch paper, Google Docs is my record keeper – only the important stuff gets added.

Each day I’ll go through and clean out my Notes. I’ll add the important items to one of my Google Docs and remove everything else.
